Macroeconomic modelling in southern Africa: A comparative perspective. Papers presented to a Seminar on Macroeconomic Modelling in Southern Africa convened by NEPRU at the Safari Hotel in Windhoek over 7-9 June 1993
In: NEPRU Publications, No. 4
This book presents the edited papers and proceedings of a workshop organised by NEPRU over 7-9 June 1993 which brought together macroeconomic modellers from Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, South Africa and Swaziland and economists and statisticians working in Namibia. They discuss the use of macroeconomic modelling in the process of economic decision-making. In addition to the formal presentations of models, the main themes of the seminar discussion were: modelling and policy co-ordination; human resource requirements; data inputs for modelling; modelling options for Namibia; and the prospects for regional co-operation in developing macroeconomic modelling capacity.
